Dreamlands progress - 15/06/2010

PIO's second school project, Dreamlands in Ghana has reached a significant stage of construction ahead of the team's arrival in November.

Passingiton became involved with Dreamlands in November 2008, 5 years after Pastor James Dugger and Agartha Amponsah founded the school. They set up Dreamlands from a church building with a view to supporting the orphans and the disadvantaged children in and around the Akumadan community, in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Now, with funds kindly donated to passingiton by you good people, a temporary five roomed building is being replaced by a more suitable, permanent 12 classroom, one dormitory block.

Pastor James contacted us to let us know how the build is coming along ahead of our team visit in November:

"At the moment the work going on on the is fixing of ceiling joint for the rooms as well and fixing of pipes for electrical works. I hope to send you more pictures on the project when it is plastered and the doors and windows fixed."

As ever Pastor James, his colleagues and pupils are exceedingly grateful for your help in making this happen:

"The progress of the school has made us feel proud in the community," he said.

"This is because day in and day out some elders in the community visit the school and they always praise you for your good work done."
