Tenderfoot Self Help School

Tenderfoot Self Help School was founded in 1996 by Esther Wamai, a professional teacher. The task of helping children in especially difficult circumstances in Kangemi is urgent. Donations have allowed for the hire of temporary premises to be used for rehabilitation. Tenderfoot Self Help School began with a class of 40 children aged between 3 and 6 years.

What is their aim?

Tenderfoot's aim is to reach as many children as they can and to effectively assist them develop basic education and skills for their survival in life.

What are we doing to help?

We started by carrying out various fund raising events dressed as Batman and Robin. To find out about other projects past and present such as the 3 peaks climb + row, art auction and kids tag rugby, go to the events section.

Tenderfoot update

PassingItOn has raised enough money to build 4 primary school classrooms and provide materials such as clothes, paper and pencils. Currently in Kangemi, most of the children's education finishes after primary school. However, next door to the primary school is a plot of land that we want to buy and help build a secondary school on. That's what we're raising money for now.

Join us

We are committed to helping Tenderfoot build a school. So how can you help? We would love to recruit more Batmen and Robin's to join us in our journey. In fact, you could be any superhero, and do anything you can think of to help raise the money. We already have a pair of caped crusaders in both Peru and Australia, all working hard to help us achieve our goal. Anything you can do to help raise money for our cause would be greatly appreciated.

For more information please contact Matt (AKA Robin) and Jim (AKA Batman) by emailing passingitonline@gmail.com.

Further information about Tenderfoot will be added here in the near future. For the moment there are these sections to look at:
